Completed an MSc in Wild Animal Health at the Zoological Society of London in 2001 with a research project entitled “Seroprevalence of Paramyxovirus in a zoological reptile collection ”.
Published scientific papers on reptile and avian medicine, wildlife diseases and surgical procedures in zoological collections. Authored chapters in the forthcoming BSAVA Manual of Raptors, Passerines and Waterfowl.
Research Fellow at the Institute of Zoology, London Zoo. Projects included work on reintroduction of British native species such as the Barberry carpet moth, Sand lizard and Corncrake.
Worked on Wildlife projects in China, Thailand, Greece & UK.
Established Nad al Shiba Veterinary Hospital, the only private, specialised exotic animal clinic in Dubai.
Chris has been involved with providing specialist surgical and medical care to a wide range of domestic, exotic and wildlife species for over a decade. He has an extensive knowledge of zoological medicine and surgery, experience with staff recruitment and training for veterinary facilities, and the development of information sheets on health and disease issues for raising public awareness on disease issues.
